There will be no refund if notification is given less than 72 hours before the first class of the session. There will be no refund or credit for any classes missed during the session.
-
Dogs must be at least 6 months old to be enrolled in class.
Handlers must be at least 18 years old.
Handlers between 13-17 years old are welcome if they are accompanied by an adult.
-
You may bring one additional person with you to class.
If your additional person is a child, they must not be disruptive to the class.
-
Dogs are required to be up-to-date on DHPP and Rabies vaccinations.
Bordetella and Canine Influenza vaccines are recommended but not required.
-
If you are ill with a contagious disease, please do not attend class, and let the instructor know.
Dogs who are ill should not attend class. If your dog has to miss class due to illness or injury, you may still attend class without your dog.
-
Bitches in season are welcome to participate in class as long as they are wearing panties.
-
Dogs must be able stay quietly in their crate, away from their handler, while waiting for their turn. Depending on the class location dogs may be crated inside the building or they may be crated in the car. In either case excessive barking is not allowed.
-
Reactivity to other dogs
In K9 Nosework® classes, dogs work one at a time. When not working, dogs are crated out of view from the dog that is working. This approach makes K9 Nose Work® classes accessible to many dogs that can’t participate in other activities.
Dogs may see one another in the parking lot or potty area. Handlers are expected to keep a minimum of 8 feet of distance between dogs at all times. Handlers are responsible for their dog’s behavior.
Depending on the dog’s level of reactivity, the class environment may or may not be appropriate. If you have questions about whether this class environment is suitable for your dog, please contact the instructor.
Aggression to Humans
A dog that displays aggression toward humans will be dismissed from class without a refund. The decision to dismiss a dog from class is at the sole discretion of the instructor.
-
Handlers are expected to be respectful and sportsmanlike toward the instructor, other students and their dogs. B.L. McMutts LLC reserves the right to excuse from class or refuse enrollment to anyone who displays inappropriate or disruptive behavior.
