Searches Offered
Teams will have 4 search opportunities, including vehicles and containers.
The searches will be similar to NACSW™ Element Specialty Trial searches, which have shorter time limits.
Odors used can be birch, anise and/or clove.
All searches will be outdoors.
Levels
There will be two search levels offered.
Level 1 searches will be single hides.
Level 2 searches will be single or multiple hides.
Level 2 searches may include distractors.
For Level 2, handlers can choose to know the number of hides or run the searches with the number unknown.
Teams may enter either level regardless of current competition level or titles held.
Schedule
Teams will be assigned to a one hour time block. Within each time block teams will be run in order.
After teams have finished their searches they may leave.
Level 1 teams will be assigned the first time blocks of the day.
Running order and time block assignments will be emailed 1-2 weeks before the Sniff-n-Go.

Notification
Payment is due at the time of entry. Entries will be confirmed within 2-3 days after payment is received.
Entry Requirements
Dogs participating in the Sniff-n-Go must be at least six months of age. Handlers must be at least 13 years of age.
Any handler under 18 years of age must have be accompanied by an adult.
Multiple Dog Policy
Handlers may enter more than 1 dog. Please note hide locations will be the same for all dogs in the same level.
Some hide locations in Level 1 will be re-used for Level 2.
Scoresheets
Handlers will be given a score sheet with their search results and times as they leave the search area.
Location Details
The searches will be held in an asphalt parking lot. The paving may be uneven in places.
The distance from handler’s vehicles to the search area is moderate.
Crating Options
All crating will be in the handler’s vehicle.
COVID-19 Protocol
Participants are required to follow CDC guidelines if they have tested positive for, or have been exposed to, COVID-19
Participants are responsible for staying up to date on any jurisdictional requirements for their home location as well as the event location including any travel guidance.
Reactive Dog Parking
There will not be separate reactive dog parking at this test.
Unentered Dogs
Unentered dogs must remain in the competitor’s vehicle. There will be ample potty areas, but unentered dogs should not be allowed to “play”, exercise, or train on the site.
Dog Policies
All dogs must be on a 6’ leash at all times when not searching. NO flexi-leashes while not participating in a search. Reactive and/or spatially challenged dogs should wear a red bandana (to be provided by the dog’s handler) to help signal others that the dog needs extra space from other dogs. Dogs will be toileted in designated areas and handlers must pick-up and dispose of waste.
Dogs and handlers must stay in designated areas to avoid contaminating search space, interrupting a search or viewing any part of the searches. Competitors should expect to keep their dogs confined in a vehicle when not testing and should plan to provide their own shade using canopies or shade cloths.
Females in Season
Will be allowed to run wearing “pants” at the very end of the day after all other dogs have run. Handlers must contact blmcmutts@gmail.com so plans can be made for the dog.
Spectators & Video
Handlers may bring a spectator to watch their searches.
The spectator may video the searches. Handlers may wear visible head or chest cameras to record their own searches.
RV Parking
There is no space for RVs to park at the site for this event. No overnight RV parking is available.
Running Vehicles or Generators in the parking lot
Running your vehicles or generators in the parking lot is not allowed at this event.
Smoking
Smoking is not allowed on this site, including the use of e-cigarettes
Sportsmanship
All competitors/handlers and spectators are expected to demonstrate good sportsmanship. Please do not discuss hide placement or any details of a dog's performance that may provide information or clues to other handlers or may be overheard.
Cancellation Policy
For cancellation of entries on or before 5pm pacific time September 25, 2022 : Full refund minus $5 processing fee.
For cancellation of entries after 5 pm September 25, 2022: no refunds will be issued unless the space can be filled in which case a refund will be issued minus a $5 processing fee. All cancellations must be emailed to blmcmutts@gmail.com Entry fees shall not be refunded if a dog or handler is absent, disqualified, or excused by host or judge. This cancellation and refund policy applies to participants that must withdraw for any reason including but not limited to injury, illness, emergency, and personal or work-related reasons. If the Sniff-n-Go cannot take place or be completed by reason of fire, civil disturbances, an Act of God, public emergency, or any other cause beyond the control of the test organizers, then the host will make their best effort to provide partial refunds after recouping their expenses.
Liability
By registering for the Sniff-n-Go, the handler hereby assumes all risks of, and responsibility for, accidents and/or damage to her/himself or to her/his property or to others, resulting from the actions of her/his dog. The competitor expressly agrees that the , B.L. McMutts LLC, Denise McInerney, American Legion Post 105, and its assignees or any other person, or persons, of said groups, shall not be held liable personally, or collectively, under any circumstances, for injury, and/or damage to her/himself, for loss or injury to property, whether due to uncontrolled dogs or negligence of any member of said groups, or any other cause, or causes.
